Government of the government, by the government, for the government

Once again, the haves are being forced to give to the have-nots. Not politely asked, but legally forced. Mandated charity on a new and unprecedented level. Redistribution of wealth on an epic scale. Apparently, paying for retirees’ pensions, health care, prescription drugs, and 55 other welfare programs, unemployment benefits, food stamps, and other assorted give-aways isn’t enough. We must now pay for 32 million Americans’ health care.

Our freedoms and liberties are being stripped from us before our very eyes. The almighty Democrats have been spewing the idea that health care is a right as though they are the arbiters of rights. I am left to wonder, where is my right to keep my hard-earned income for myself, my family, and my retirement? Where is the compassion for hard-working, honest Americans who play by the rules, try to eke out a living, send their kids to college, live in a comfortable home, and maybe have a nest egg left over for the golden years?

Americans who play by the rules continue to get drubbed. While most Americans only ask to be left alone, government levies more regulations, picks our pockets even deeper, and tell us how we can and cannot live.

While Congress receives their own generous retirement plans and top-notch health care as they decide how much money they make, we are told how much money we get to keep. We are told how much water we are allowed. We are told we cannot use as much energy as we wish. We are told where we can live and in some cases, have our lands confiscated in the name of bugs and twigs.

In spite of hundreds of nationwide town hall meeting and millions attending Tea Parties and marches, Democrats pushed the new health care bill through. During nearly 10 percent unemployment and nearly 26 percent underemployment, they passed a bill that puts them in charge of 17 percent of our economy. Instead of working to stop the fiscal bleeding and reducing uncertainty in the private sector, they piled 17 percent more trash on the regulatory landfill of the federal bureaucracy – a dump that reached its capacity many years ago.

Give Democrats credit for one thing. In spite of the looming repercussions in the November elections, they are willing to stand by their convictions and nationalize health care. They chose this massive takeover and ignored the masses.

Could Main Street Americans have imagined this government intrusion into our lives 20 years ago?

In spite of spiraling deficits and a never-before-seen government spending spree, the ante has been upped in a way that will only be fully realized in ten years. Ten years of collecting health care monies for six years of health care providing. Year 11 promises to be an interesting financial morass.

The Social Security Trust Fund was raided by President Johnson to pay for Medicare and is now running deficits for the first time in its history. Medicare is being raided to pay for Obamacare.
